The Colonel in Chief of the Parachute Regiment is HRH Charles, Prince of Wales. He was appointed CiC 40 years ago, so he has held that position for most of the Regiment's life; it was formed on 22 June 1940. He has this day, 23 June 2017 visited the regimental HQ in Colchester.
